Catharses?
One of the more annoying aspects of my medical exile has been the tedious role, as Cancer Boy, to play in being the way point between the various segments of this great Anglo Saxon clan that rarely speaks to itself. The foriegn and domestic parts are all promising visits, even those who've never seen each other, including my Aunts.
This is a most unexpected and undesired side effect of the minor detour that is cancer, as I had previously rather liked their not talking to each other. Worse yet, my JV partner is being dragged into this little frenzy of multi-continental familialness sparked by one inconvenient tumour. I had managed to avoid such in my previous JVs.

I find the irony that you, Mr. Cuddly Chops, are serving as the focus of this outpouring of familial warm fuzzy feelings to be completely delightful! I've got this hilarious mental picture of you, with extremely strained good grace, receiving sloppy kisses from aging maiden aunts.

Yes, well, it's a highly unfortunate turn of events. All the more in that it threatens to suck in my JV partner and involve aspects of my life that I tend to keep from my family so as to reduce tediousness.

Well, better they are hugzy together than tearing each others' eyes out. Family strife is really what you don't need right now.
On the other hand, this indicates future possiblities of JV partner + family ganging up on you.
Once you are better, perhaps re-divide and conquer?

As Hugh D. Auchincloss put it: "You can choose your friends but you can't choose your family."

that's "previous". and ... plural.
for a paranoid one you ... divulge a lot.
and ... yes, you can just blame it on the drugs.

ps: have you seen "munich" yet? if so, what did you think? am in no state to draft a review right now. might do so tomorrow.

You can choose your friends but you can't choose your family.
True, but I can execute them.
And yes, Raf Bey, I divulge more than I should under the influence of strong narcotics.
However, serial engagements in JVs is so very common. The only enlightening factor being my fetish for benaat as-Sahraa.
As for Munich.
No, I am rarely in the mood to see Israeli-Palestinian things. I am to this region via interests far removed from the conflict and remain largely irritated by it.
Do a review. You owe one or two by now, yes? Half promised reviews. Come now, if only to amuse an honorary Chleuh.
