Terror & Opposition: Mohammed Faiz - Casablanca Bombing encores
Returning to a proposition I raised a month ago, but have sadly been too busy to act on, that of Mohammed Faiz, I noted that the weekly MarocHebdo International has a cover story on the man, the leader is Mohamed Faïz, héros de l'attentat terroriste du cybercafé de Sidi Moumen, se dit abandonné à son sort or "heros of the terrorist attack on the Sidi Moumen internet cafe, thinks he's been left to his own devices."
I picked up the hard copy in the airport today, (3 euro is really an absurd price I may add), and in reading I have to say obviously my proposition for a fund to support him and the victims is more necessary than I though.
However, one has to find the vehicle to do so. Obviously I have to try to move ahead on this. I would hope that any Maghrebine readers who might be able to facilitate actions might email the collounsbury yahoo address with thoughts.

Glad to see this. I thought it was a dead issue.
Let's not overthink this, though. It really is a simple as setting up an escrow account. While it's quite important to have someone everbody loves e.g., a Scandanavian embassy, the Rotary Club, as a public face, let's not let the perfect be the enemy of the good, to quote a phrase. It's important to do something while there's still some currency and urgency to the story.
BTW, why, specifically, is it that you're convinced that helping out Mohammed Faiz is more important than you thought?

I'm very disappointed to see the thundering silence that seems to be greeting this initiative. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
This sentiment is often overused but, I think, really applies here. We have an opportunity -- at virtually no cost to ourselves -- to do something that will really make a difference, certainly to Mr. Faiz and, quite possibly, in a larger sense.
Saddam Hussein used to provide financial support for the families of succeful Palestinian suicide bombers. As members of the civilized world, we should each be personally embarrassed that Mr. Faiz and his family are going begging.
Those of us reading this blog have a special responsibility. As best I can determine, Aqoul is the only English language source in the world discussing the heroism of Mohamed Faiz. If we do not act, no one will.

In some ways I am disappointed as well, but also a sinner.
Unfortunately my allergy to mixing various activities and being insanely busy has led me to neglect this. Above all as on one hand one is seeing in Morocco now a clear rejection of this sort of murderous insanity, but no one seems to be giving them any credit.
I shall do my best in the next week to get on this.
