New Month, Open Commentary - October edition

I'm afraid there are terribly, terribly unhealthy developments in my work (oh such as Depressionesque financial sector meltdowns) such that I haven't had much time to talk MENA, and such that I would talk would be of the sort of thing I don't talk about.
